This weekend Joanne and went down to Weymouth for my first six hour swim. This swim went well however, I found it really hard to keep my food down while in the sea and swimming. I was sick four times in six hours – never mind it’s just something I am going to have to get used too.  I do believe long distance swimming really is one of the toughest sports in the world.

A quite week for me this week and back to Weymouth next week for another six hour swim – I am looking forward to it!!

Last weekend I went to Guernsey with a group of friend and my film production crew (Caldwell and Fisher productions) to swim from Guernsey to Sark. Sark is an island about 10 miles fromGuernsey I completed the swim in 3 hours 20 mins. I did this swim with a friend Hamish Reid who is swimming the channel two weeks before I begin the Arch to Arc. We had a fantastic weekend and it was a good first taster to sea swimming.

This weekend I was meant to be swimming in Weymouth however, due to bad weather condition the boat pilot cancelled the swim – hopefully my firstWeymouth swim will be next weekend…..

Not a huge amount to report on this week. I have had a busy week with work but after last weekend’s ultra triathlon I have not done a great deal of training. Next weekend I am of to Guernsey to complete a long sea swim, this will be interesting.

I would like to thank Triathlon Vision (www.triathlonvision.com) for there continuous support. They have supplied me with first class goggles and sun glasses which I have been wearing during races and training.  If you are looking for goggles or glasses this summer I would highly recommend Triathlon Vision!

This weekend I raced one of the longest and most challenging triathlon in the UK, starting at Llanrhystud and finishing in Snowdon.  It was a stunning course that takes you through some of the most remote and beautiful places that Wales has to offer. I ran the course with Nino (another Arch to Arc competitor.) The course took us twenty four hours to complete – it was massively satisfying once we finally got to the finish – with very saw legs. This race was fantastically well organized by Chris and Ross who could ‘nt of been better during the race. It’s certainly a race I would recommend to any once looking for a real challenge….

A quick massive thank you to my support crew Matt, Phee and my beautiful wife Joanne, they did a amazing job and i could not have run it with out them. Also to Evans cycles for supplying me a bike that went brilliantly well. And Exposure Lights once again for there continuous help, during this race I used there USC Race Maxx model and found it amazing through the night run – keeping us on the right directions for nine hours of darkness!!
